Alexandrya had been watching Sy as he moved along, and for a moment thought nothing of it. Well that was until he burnt a path for him to take. Now this infact surprised her, as well as made her back up some. She didn't want to be spotted by him if he seemed to be so reckless as to 'play' with fire in a dense forest. If he wasn't carefull he could burn the whole thing down. She wanted to leave and just not be seen but she also was letting her natural child like curiosity get the best of her as she didn't walk away but instead decided to watch him for a little. See what he was up too. What he was doing and why he seemed to be in a hurry.

"I almost had it in my grasp!" he said to himself, "Blasted hunters. I want that power!" His lust for power seemed to be taking over him. Losing what human traits he had left. The curse of being a Drack.
In the distance there was a far cry of a group. Sy looked behind himself and took off running at full speed. The hunters were getting closer. Sy now wished he hadn't spent so much time in the village. "They've picked up my trail!"

Alexandrya listned carefully to what the man had to say. Or well whatever he was for that matter. 'Power' She thought. She was contiplating all he had said, well that was until she too heard the cry, looked back to where the man... had .. been she could see a glimpse of him before he was hard to see seeing and ran off at a wonderfull speed. She started in the opposite direction. She wanted to know, what had he almost gotten. What was he looking for and she wanted to know where he had just come from. She made sure to stay clear of the burnt path. Not wanting to run into the group, even if they were after him. She wanted to get to wherever he was talking about and find out what was going on.

Elizabeth nodded in agreement, almost to scared to say anything. She didn't want to leave this place, she was born and raised here and had so many great memories. As she turned and looked at the desolation that had come upon her beloved village she gave a silent vow that she would never let Sy get that power.
Elizabeth then turned back towards Roran. "I trust you. Lead the way and I will follow you wherever you want me to go" she explained as she put her hand on his arm for support.

"Thank you." he said quietly. Roran looked at his torched home and remembered a sword he had. Surely the blade was still there. Though his skill with the sword wasn't that off a swordsmen he was able to defend himself and others. "Hold on." he told her. Roran went to his home and searched the wreckage.
Roran threw aside broken planks and timbers of his home. His hands being slightly burnt by the charred remains. Finally after searching he found it. He pulled the blade from under a pile of wood. It seemed in good shape, the only problem was the few dings on it and the peeling leather of the hilt. Charred and warped by the heat. "This might be of use."
The blade shined dully as he strapped it around his chest. Coming back to Elizabeth's side he nodded to her, "Let's go. There's a village not to far from here that we trade with. Surely they'll take us in."

Alexandrya continued through the forest. Making sure to stay out of sight of the group she had heard coming. She wondered about what this 'power' was that the man had been speaking off. Why he was cursing the whole thing. She wanted to learn of this power and to learn of him perhaps. Such destructive power was held in him if he was able to create fire such as he had. Charring the forest floor so simply. She kept walking just thinking about it all, as she was the curious type. That was until she smelt something. Something was burning. Once she came out of the trees she was shocked. The burning smell was an entire town. Perhaps maybe because she had basically been sheltered during her life, or because she hadn't seen something like this before, but she didn't move. She just stood there. Staring at the destruction, the flames. Who could have done this? Her mind reeled back to she had seen. Was it that man? Could it have been him?

Elizabeth nodded solemly. She looked once again over the surroundings. It kept coming back to her that she might never return to this place that she had so many fond memories. "I'm ready to go" she said bravely as she grabbed his hand. "Lead the way." she told him.

Roran put an arm around Elizabeth to comfort her and to guide. So many things had happened to them in these last hours that it would make anyone buckle under the strain. Both of them walked down the wagon beaten trail made by the dozen of traders before them.
They wanted refuge away from the dangers that Sy put them in. Surely the town they traded with offered it to them. Roran had been their dozens of times. Trading farm goods to the local market. "The walls around the town will protect." he kept telling himself. "Even if they don't, I will." He tightened his fist as though gripping an invisible object.
The words that Sy told them before he left echoed in his thoughts endlessly, "If you don't have the stone found by tonight's full moon; I will make sure that you and your lover don't see the light of next day!" This object around his neck was a curse. A curse that should be carried alone. Roran looked to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth felt tired and exhausted as they traveled. It had been such a long day and the emotional strain didn't help at all. Elizabeth felt Roran's gaze and turned to meet it. "What?" she asked not really wanting to hear the answer. She knew that Roran wouldn't want her in any danger and would try to avoid it at all costs, but in no way was she ever going to leave his side. She leaned against a tree for a rest and waited for him to say what he needed to say.

"Well..." he said thinking for a moment, "Ah, it's nothing." Replied Roran with a weary laugh. "Come on now." Said Roran unstrapping the sword from his back, "Hop on my back." A smile appeared across his face, "Just like you used to when we were younger." He tightened the strap around his waist and gestured to Elizabeth.
The thought never crossed him why he was doing this. Perhaps that eternal bond they forged as children. Nevertheless he knew that she was tired. Fatigue showed on her face like the light of day.

Alexandrya enterd the town. Even though the smell of burning flesh made her feel sick. It was sad, disgusting and to her it seemed to be pointless. People were dead, on the streets dead. She didn't know them but she felt sorry for them of course. She couldn't belive this it was horrible who in their mind could possibley do this, why would they do this. She didn't see the point. She saw children even. Younger ones dead. Was there nothing she could do. No one there she could help? She was sure she could find some one. Any one. She continued to walk around. Keeping herself from being sick as she looked for anyone who might be breathing or anything.

Elizabeth gave a little laugh to the prospect of her riding on his back. "Roran!" she said lightly hitting him on the arm. "Now you know I'm not as little as I used to be. Plus it'd be no use getting both of us tired. Who knows what is going to happen tonight" she said. Although it was very tempting, she knew she had to keep Roran as refreshed as possible. He was their only chance at staying alive through the night, as much as she'd like to think she could help, rock throwing wasn't going to save them. "Just give me two or three minuetes to rest and I'll be ready. I promise" she said giving him a weak smile.

Roran laughed, "Alright." It was the only thing that seemed to cause it. "You rest for awhile." The sudden growl from his stomach threw him off. He rubbed his gullet. Roran never finished his meal when the chaos broke out in the village. "Um...I'm going to try and find some food okay." Though the idea of leaving Elizabeth alone wasn't his favourite. He knew that he had to get at least some berries to keep their strength up. "I'll just be over here." Through the foliage he went in search of some breakfast.
Sy ran hard through the forest. The sound of those men set him on a dead sprint. They were no more as savages as he was. That was what he thought because of what they did to his family. He constantly looked back, only the empty forest. Sy stopped and caught his breath. "Perhaps it wasn't them. " he thought, "Maybe just some travelers."
