((NOTE: NOTHING bad will happen in this Rp. You change it around and I shall hurt you! *glares*))
It was a peaceful night, the stars were out, and the moon was up in the sky illuminating the scene below. Large bonfires roared within the field, lighting up the camp like a beacon for all to see. Bards from all around the land had come to trade songs and sing to all who showed up bard and non-bard alike. Mid-summer’s day was a few days away, cause for celebration. Around a crackling fire the people sat. Many of them had their instruments out so they could play along with whatever songs that were to be sung.
Alasse sat at the head of the fire upon the tree stump, her baliset. She tuned it and then searched the gathering crowd. Sylvan sat with his own baliset listening intently. He’d grown into a young man, although he’s only 16 he’d gotten taller, stronger and more mature.
N’coli had also shown up for the jamboree, He wore his dark emerald green cloak, pulled over him with the hood pulled down over his face, casting his features in shadows. He watched from the back as Alasse began to sing. It was the song she’d dung to him late last year. He could tell her attention was on him the entire time. As the send of the song ended she stood and walked through the crowd and picked out N’coli readily enough. She held out the Baliset and N’coli took it.
A path was made and he walked up to the stump and sat down, Sylvan’s eyes wide with surprise. Why his mother would choose N’coli was crazy! N’coli gently re-tuned the baliset and then began to strum the strings and then paused. “This is for the special people who are dearest to me, my child, my friends.” He glanced over at Sylvan and then strummed the first notes of the song, enhancing it with his own magic and grace.
“I'm not a perfect person,
As many things I wish I didn't do,
But I continue learning,
I never meant to do those things to you,
And so I have to say before I go,
That I just want you to know.
I've found out a reason for me,
To change who I used to be,
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you.
I'm sorry that I hurt you,
It's something I must live with everyday,
And all the pain I put you through,
I wish that I could take it all away,
And be the one who catches all your tears,
That’s why I need you to hear.
I've found a reason for me,
To change who I used to be,
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you…
I'm not a perfect person,
I never meant to do those things to you,
And so I have to say before I go,
That I just want you to know.
I've found a reason for me,
To change who I used to be,
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you.
I've found a reason to show,
A side of me you didn't know,
A reason for all that I do,
And the reason is you.”
The crowd had gone silent. N’coli stood and handed the baliset off to Alasse and then touched her son’s shoulder. Sylvan stood and watched N’coli walk off. He sighed deeply and walked up to the stump and sat down, thinking, searching for a song to fit the occasion. Finally he smiled and began to strum his own tune, the tune he’d made up when he’d first meet Elli the mage. The lyrics were Elli’s, but the musical melody was his and his alone.
"Uich gwennen na 'wanath ah na dhín.
An uich gwennen na ringyrn ambar hen.
Boe naid bain gwannathar,
Boe cuil ban firitha.
Boe naer gwannathach..."
