[[This is a pretty standard merchant ship sort of rp. I would like two other people, maybe more, to crew a ship that will travel around a small area of the galaxy, delivering cargo and taking jobs and passengers and stuff. The crewpeople I want are:
*A pilot/captain
*A medic/engineer
Others can join either as other crew or (better) as passengers. Anyone interested, please sign up and post your intro. My character is going to be the navigator, loadmaster and haggler (he makes deals).]]

Welcome to the Megara System, commonly known as Old Megara, because of the existance of a much more prominent New Megara, far to spinward. There are eight planets, one of them habitable, and an asteroid belt. There was a time when it was a prominent system in the Galactic world: now, it's just a port area, where outlaws and pirates can hang out between heists.
The one habitable planet is Megara VI [[not XI, sorry 'bout that]]. It only has one city, known in the records as Freeport, but usually just referred to as "the city" or as "Megara VI". The actual name "Freeport" is usually applied to the old quarter, the southern end of the city nearest the spaceport, where all the greasy-spoon diners, sleazy taverns and cheap hotels are [[this is where we'll all live & work at the beginning]]. There is a high port, that is, a spaceport facility in orbit around the planet, for incoming vessels, though most interstellar traffic is done through the starport Darfur [[there is a difference between spaceport and starport: spaceports handle interplanetary or intrastellar (in the same solar system) traffic, well starports handle interstellar (between solar systems) traffic]]
The one asteroid belt is home to numerous space and star ports. The two most prominent are Darfur, a high-class port that handles most starline [[like airline or sealine]] traffic and Blue Heaven [[where our ship will come into]], a lower-profile port where outlaws and pirates go to have a drink and seek refuge after a heist.

When I wrote in here two weeks ago, I was figuring I'd be off on some wild adventure by now, but I'm not. I'm sitting here in dull Freeport, reading old books about space pirates and navigation logs of folks running around this sector. I have no idea what we can do, so I guess we'll have to head for Blue Heaven and see what happens there. Some navigator I am.
I should probably go down to work, in case my room gets any more boring. Feels like my last day of secondary school: I can do whatever I want, because I'll be light days away before too long.
