In a land so serene and peaceful, a new awakening has set foot on such a place. Maginificent trees scattered the terrain, but it was the wonderful willows that brought such beauty to it. Their long, slender branches swaying in the breeze, like dancers of the night and day. The wind, so soothing and fresh, whistled with welcome through every crack and opening it could find among the fresh terra, while sending a rain of plentiful blossoms to the ground to make this land seem like such only found in a fairy tale. The rivers cracked through the land with a smooth trickling sound to calm any angered being, while it fed the land with nourishment and comfort.
The emerald grasses fed happily and grew in plenty as other plants fed from the river. Wild vegetables and fruits grew scattered near its bank, and to add with that, fruit bearing trees allowed ripe fruit to fall on the ground and fill the land with more. It was then, the distant sound could finally be heard. A rumbling of soft thunder, crashing into the earth and carving itself further inward.
A waterfall. Yes, to reveal more of such a wonderous land, we can now see it is settle in the bottom of a mountainous valley. The tall peaks seemed to try and block out the sacred land from ever being known, trying to save its precious forest and creatures that lurk within. The tigers and their beauty, slowly moving through the dark foliage while they hunted on the plentiful herds that consisted of deer, elk, and more. Other wildcats joined the hunts, while exotic birds would awaken every morning and call in their morning hunts as they soared overhead, heading towards the lake in which the distant waterfall created.
Now, hidden for so long in this valley, a new being would come along... It would now be claimed as his own.

With a sudden spark escaping through his veins, a shadow within the distance reared slightly with a loud, mystical whinney that sounded of a flowing river. Hindquarter muscles pushed his bulk foreward, causing a spring over a fallen, decaying oak as forehooves pushed within the ground, awaiting his rear to continue moving him foreward.
Melodic songs of birds flight rang over head, causing twin peaks to swirl just slightly so he could listen to both the rythm of his steady beat, and their song in choir. Lightly hued chestnuts focused straight ahead, as if knowing what lied just behind the boundaries. Pushing his crest up, and then allowing it to bow again, he pushed himself faster. Dirt flew from beneath ashen hooves, soaring a few feet above the air before raining down towards the mother bearer whom gives him life. With a sudden grunt escaping through his vocals, the foliage of the forest he once roamed through now laid yards behind him, his form standing rigid while staring off into the distance, rays poaring all around him.
His coat had a wonderous mix of colors. A pale, creamy coat painted his carefully molded form, while auburn splashed like spilled water over him.
A wind rustled its way through the terrains, causing emerald blends to bend at its power. Shaking his head just slowly, boa arched to allow the breeze to flow through every seperate strand of his pearly mane and tassle. It was here, he would search.
Racing through the distant sun, he kept his pace going with a steady flow as the gods above seemed to call him forth towards a new place. Would this place be claimed and he would have to join? Would it be his own? Could it now be a place he could finally call home? All that could be done was to wait... And waiting, he did.
Slowly, he found himself rearing as he came through a earth-made tunnle near the foot of a mountain. A nickered escaped his vocals quietly while his hooves noisely clattered along the cold surface, now carring himself through.
Finally, once stepping forth on the other side, he could feel the blinding light widen his gaze as pure awe struck his tired form. Yes... this would be his new home. This would be where a new herd would live.

A beautiful mare watched him from the shadows of the trees. She had been waiting for so long for someone good to show up, that she was weary of this newcomer. She had sent many away for trying to do something that would destroy the beauty of the land. She was a young mare, and had taken over waiting for a new leader from her mother, who died when the mare was really young. She stepped a little closer to him, watching him, studying him. She was quite stunning when she came into the light. Big, bright, brown eyes with which she watched and observed everything. She was a brindle colour, a mottled dark brown with lighter brown. When she moved in the sun, it was like a hologram, she shone with the light. Strong muscles rippled and moved her coat when she ran. She bore a scar on her cheek from a rebellious stallion who tried to take over the land. He was shown that she would not be taken down, and neither would she allow anyone to destroy what she had worked so hard to protect. The scar was the only imperfection on her body. She began to walk towards him, slowly, to show she meant no challenge to him.

His copper nostrils inhaled a strong scent that seemed to appear out of nowhere, causing his pale dial with the splash of chestnut streaked down from his ear towards his cheeks to slowly turn towards the side, noticing a form of a creature heading towards him. 'A mare,' he thought silently with a slight tilt of his crown while the painted stallion started to turn, facing the mare that was slowly coming towards him. 'I scented no other here, how long has she been here?'
Her slow stride made him feel at ease, for she wasn't acting hostile, so that allowed him time to slowly observe the build and color of her body. Yes, he did spot the scar upon her beautiful body, but that was something he didn't pay much head to as his light chestnut gaze stared into her eyes.
When she was close enough to him, his dial slowly lowered while his boa arched to make a bow towards the female, wondering if she was the owner of this land, which caused slight disappointment to come within him, for he thought this land was free for claiming.
A sigh slowly pushed his napes. 'Oh well,' he thought. 'If she is, I shall just her herd.'

She watched him carefully, as he bowed to her. She lowered herself lower than he had lowered himself. She sensed a difference in this one. All the others had tried to show her how powerful or masculine they were by trying to over power her, rearing on their quarters and showing their teeth. When she reached him, she looked him in the eye, not challenging, but so that she could see what was behind them. Still not letting her careful guard go, she relaxed her muscles a little more, taking her chances that he wouldn't attack her, but she sensed he was the not the kind to do so.

A small nicker of confusion formed within his throat that silently pushed out to be heard. Why had she lowered herself like so? Light copper gems slowly danced their way around, drifting from her to the land he wished for, and then back to her.
Muscles rippled for a brief second under the sea of frost and hazel as one step of his ashen hooves brought himself closer, his gaze still remaining locked to her's as he started to voice the question he thought.
"M'lady," he whispered, coming to a halt at least a foot before her, his light mane slowly lifting and falling like waves upon a sea as the wind struck him. "As I came here, I thought I scented no boundary. But, I feel I am incorrect. Do you lead this land?"

She nodded her head in greeting. "M'lord." Her eyes flickered to the land around her. She pushed her breath out in thought. Turning her head back to him, she spoke. "Lead? No. I do not lead this land. I guard it, I wait for someone to come. Someone to lead the land, lead it the way my mother wished." She turned her head to watch the wind rustle the trees in the forest. Looking back to him, in the eye, she whispered, "Many have tried, but I have turned them away."

Auds upon his skull twitched slightly. 'Turned away?' he thought, allowing his painted muzzle to point in different ways as eyes scanned the terrain once more. Pale tassle flicked slightly, swatting away a pest that was irritating him greatly. Seeming a little hesitant, he finally asked the thing bothering him.
"Have you found the one who will lead the way your mother has done?" She never quiet exactly mentioned if there was one she found, or if all were turned away. She said many tried, and she turned them back. So, there could be one she let through?

She paused a moment, looking around the land she had protected for so long from evil-doers. She let out a sigh, her tail flicking up to swat the pest that was bothering the other. It had come over to bother her. Almost undetectably, she shook her head, her eyes full of disappointment. "No. I have not found the one to lead this land. And I have been waiting for so long." She looked up at the stallion, her eyes searching deep into his, trying to see if this was the one who she had been waiting for.

At those words, the male perked up a bit and tapped one of his forehooves into the dirt with anticipation. Chestnut eyes met her's as he asked a last question. "I have come in search of land. It was either to join a herd, or start one. When I found this, I had the feeling to make it a place where I would lead, and have members joining to make it grow." He paused as he became still, though he remained looking at the mare that stood before him.
"With your permission, I wish to lead," he whispered silently, lowering his crest to show respect towards the creature that stood infront of him. All he could do now, was hope he might be the right one to lead.

She knew the question was coming, but it still surprised her a little. She looked at her surroundings, something she always took comfort in. It was the only place she ever knew. Her eyes drifted over his strong body, as if trying to find the answer somewhere on him. She knew what she was going to say already, but she wasn't sure she was ready to let go. She had waited for so long to find the right one to lead. She returned her gaze to him, and slowly nodded. "Only if I may know your name, m'lord."

A small nicker escaped his napes as he lifted his dial. 'Eh...I forgot about that,' thought with a low chuckle. 'Oops.' His splashed boa arched slightly with yet another bow towards the mare as he began to speak. "Sorry M'lady, should have said that sooner. I am dubbed Lorios. I used to live among a tribe of horses that lived side-by-side in nature of dark tanned humans, indians if I remember correctly. There used to call me Water Runner, for my love for water earned me that. But I was called horses among the herd of which I lived in at that time."

"Lorios," she said quietly. "And I am Rayne." She nodded her head. "I believe you are the right one to lead this land. But I am the only one here, so you do not have much of a herd." She blew air out of her muzzle, causing her lips to quiver. "So, if you do not wish to stay, I understand." She looked up at him to see his answer, hoping it would be what she wanted it to be.

"There is no reason for me to leave. Others will probably come, and I won't leave to miss that chance," Lorios replied to Rayne, a smile forming upon his muzzle. "I am going to stay." His whispered intertwined with the breeze as his auds flicked slightly, causing the painted stallion to turn towards a different direction as he looked through the many weeping willows with the few scattered trees. Soaking in the rain of blooming petals that soared from trees, grew from the earth and flew through the air, he also noticed the exotic species of birds flying in groups overhead. He listened to the distance beat of a drum as herds of deer would run through the land, while the distant rumble of roar was released by the predators that caused equality among the species. The rivers that swam down south scattered the terrain, while looking towards a southern mountain of large height, a faint waterfall was spotted. Muscles fully relaxed beneath his colors, a feeling of tranquilty sweeping over him.

((sorry, for some reason my computer just shut down )) Rayne returned the smile. "I'm glad you are staying. I haven't had company in so long." She too, turned to look at her surroundings, her mane whipping around in the wind. Her mind returned to those last painful days of her mother. Returning, she heard the sweet sounds of the birds chirping, the wind in her ears, the water rushing, and the breathing of the being beside her.
