The Captain stood at the head of the ship, watching the waves crash into her ship, The Anne Marie, named after her mother. The ship originally was owned by her father, former Captain Crow, but he had just passed away and left the ship to Elizabeth to captain. Her mother had been the daughter of a wealthy landowner, whose name was unknown to her for the time being, and had fallen in love with her father, a pirate. After a small love affair, they were discovered and her father was put on trial, penalty: hanging. Elizabeth's mother barely saved her father, claimed she was pregnant with his child. Elizabeth Marie Crow was born to Anne Marie Armington and Jack Crow. Being shunned by the family, Anne Marie left the estate to start a life onboard a ship with Jack, but sea life was not suited for her and she soon after died of what the doctor proclaimed as home-sickness. Jack never did love again, other than his beloved daughter, who he took to calling Marie instead of Elizabeth. It was their name and their name only, no one else was allowed to call her Marie, except maybe for one other person, her first mate.
Elizabeth stared at the waves, watching the fish and dolphins swimming beneath them. She turned her ice blue eyes back up to the wheel, where her first mate was now steering. He'd been her only companion in the days of her father's illness, the only one she'd let into his cabin. He'd only been gone for a week, and the pain still seared inside her heart, but she couldn't afford to dwell. She took on the name of Captain Crow to all, but, of course, her first mate. She pushed her long black hair out of her face and stepped up next to her mate. She cupped her hands around her mouth and let out a yell. "All hands on deck! We've got a visitor boys! A nice large schooner is heading our way. Anyone feel like a little celebration?!" Her accent was a mix of Irish and English, her father having been English and his former first mate Irish. She had grown up between the two and gained both accents at the same time. She listened as the boys yelled back in joy. They were going to have a nice booty to gain, as far as Elizabeth saw it, but she had no clue what was in store for her.

The English Schooner caught sight of a ship on the horizon, it's flag as of yet, undistinguishable, but the crew aboard knew it was the legendary Captain Crow's ship, the Anne Marie. Some legend held that his daughter still lived on the ship, but how could that be true? A young woman aboard a ship full of vulgar stinking pirate men?
