Oo;
'Kay. I'm looking for three players AND ONLY three players for now. When I have three, I will begin the second stage.
Please ask me before you join. 'Tis common courtesy and all. ^^;
Also, this has a plot, and you'll be expected to participate. Please have your characters arrive in the clearing at some point in your first posts, although I don't mind if your characters interact with each other a bit first. ^^
Ic;
The night was humid and muggy, condensation clinging to the forest like a too-tight overcoat. Overhead, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed, jagged forks of gold and white painting themselves across the purple velvet sky, occasionally attempting to lash out at the giants of trees, only to melt back as quickly as they had surged forward.The navy clouds that mingled with the indigo sky curled into indescribably beautiful (and yet somehow frightening) patterns that played with the mind and skewered the senses. Indeed, just looking at the sky tonight would have one bewitched.
The forest itself was huge, and very foreboding, full of hooting owls and creaking branches, twigs snapping as unseen organisms darted around the forest floor. Thorn bushes and ferns entwined, deceiving the brain into thinking that a certain sharp bramble was merely a bright green plant. The plants themselves seemed to be alive and communicating, whispered voices echoing around the forest, but never seeming to speak real words. Perhaps the plantlife itself knew what was to transpire on this hot, stormy night?
But as one got deeper and deeper through the forest, they would abruptly be let past, into a strange, strange scene. It was a clearing, but different then any clearing ever seen before. A perfect circle of earth that was completely devoid of life, be it plant, insect or animal. The only things within the oddly still, silent circle were four statues. Three massive stone pillars surrounded a short, lithe and perfect statue of a female elf. The realism of the statue was unnerving; her eyes were open wide in an expression that bore a strong resemblance to shock, her mouth open and her hands in front of her, as if she was protecting herself from something. The statue was remarkably attractive, and carved from what looked like the finest white marble; quite how such marble had entered the centre of this forest was unknown, but it was there nonetheless.
However, despite the silence in the clearing itself, all around, the trees whispered.
