Cain sat under a snow covered pine tree. His red hair was soaked from the constant drops of snow that would often fall on his head. His breath was misted as the warm air from his mouth came into contact with the cold air outside as he breathed. Wrapped around him was a tan cloak that kept warm. Underneathe he wore a cotton shirt with a thick leather curassis over it, and three or four layers of cotton pants that were kept dry because of the rare dry spot he had found when he sat there.
An oversized grey wolf, about the size of a short horse, laid infront of him wrapping itself around him to give warmth with it's fur. Beside it was a saddle that was taken off for the night. Three or four bags were piled next to the saddle consisting of nonperishable food, and a few changes of clothes he bought in the last town he visited. A sword, and two daggers were laying up against the bags leaving easy reach for emergancy encounters.
Cain's eyes slid slowly open. As he awoke he scanned the horizons. What happened last night, the last thing i remember was running from a group of soldiers, he thought to himself rubbing the large sore on his shoulder. The area around him was covered in a blanket of snow, and all that could be seen was the small patches of green from the pines, and the rough brown bark that was surrounded by pines that had fallen and died. The sun shined down between the gaps between trees.
The wolf shifted as Cain's mind began to shift from the dream world and into the reality. Good mourning sleepy one, said a females voice in his head. Cain smiled as he replied mentally back. Good mourning.. Ever since the wolf and him had met eachother they've had a mental bond that allows telepathic communication, since the wolf's vocal cords arn't like a humans.
Cain popped his neck as he leaned his back again. He took off his right glove to reaveal two scars across the back of his hand. They had healed long ago, but sometimes bothered him everyonce and a while.
(Alright... the piont is that you get a riding animal {preferably an animal you don't see oversized} that found you when you were little. It leaves some sort of mark on you that glows when use your 'gift'. Your characters background can be anything you want, but try to keep close to the 'rebellion' {rebeling of the 'Empire' which had slowly conqueroed the land except for a few major city's that remain standing.)
