If some of you didn't know, Johnny Depp is now acting in his newest film, Public Enemies, in which the character he is playing for the movie is John Dillinger. Who is John Dillenger? Well, let me explain.
John Dillinger, in the shortest way I can put it, was a gangster. Robbing banks, killing innocent people during those robberies, etc. But lot of people view him differently, most likely as a Robin Hood, that stood up for the farmers during the Great Depression. And the city I'm currently living in has those types of mixed feelings, as well as others who don't.
Dillinger was eventually caught, though, he escaped the "inescapable" Lake County Jail by making a fake gun [soap or wood, it's still being debated] and putting his own black shoe polish to make it look like it was real. And for this scene, they've decided to go to Crown Point, and USE the old jailhouse for this filming purpose.
So, basically, I was on the set of a movie, which I'd never thought would happen, but it did. And, even better, I met Johnny Depp, along with my cousin and a couple other friends. I'm putting up pictures, so you guys know what to expect in the movie if you go see it. :] |
