There was utter silence in the house. Ed looked down at his shaking hands. It seemed to spread across his body until he fell to his knees. The thoughts in his head seemed on fire. Why was this happening to him. His emotions seemed to gain over his body.
Ed slammed his fist hard into the wooden floor. It gave away under its force, leaving a dent in it. A single tear flowed down his face and fell from his chin. "Why did...why did this have to happen?" He asked himself. Alphonse looked at his brother and pitied him even though he knew not what was going on.
Stablalizing himself Edward got to his feet and wiped away the tear that swept along his check. How could he let himself go through this over a girl? He was still to young to completely understand it all.

A year passed with no word from Shara it seemed that she had dissapeard, the military finaly listed her as dead when she didn't show up or turned in her watch. Shara had hidden in plain sight, using her alchemic knowledge to change her appearance dramaticly. Soon after her 16th birthday she got a present she never saw comming and it come in the form of a blonde haired, golden eyed boy named Edward Elric.
A Few days before ((Ed & Shara's birthday))...
"Full Metal, there have been reports of some girl impersonating a State Alchemist in Dublith. We'd like you to go check it out for us." Was all the note said. The military dog who'd dropped the not off waited to be dismissed and then left on other erands. The matter wasn't that immportant, but it still needed to be looked into and who better to send than the Full Metal Alchemist himself!

"Damn, another fake." Said Edward reading over the letter. He crumpled it up and threw it into a nearby rubbish bin. With a heavy sigh Edward Elric made his way to the train station. "I hate taking care of those fakes. They always cause more trouble then they're worth." Ed had been on two cases like this previously in the last couple of months. It was those encounters that nearly cost the lives of civilians.
Ed stepped onto the train, his brother had already been about with Major Armstrong to investigate the disturbances in Dublith. Handing over his ticket Ed took a seat next to the window and stared out of it. Slowly the train began to pull away from the station. Edward Elric was off. He would finally put a stop to the fake state alchemist.

As the train came to a stop there were shouts. A girl raced past Ed's window, her hair pulled back into a braid. She wore a black overcoat with the picture of a dragon on the back and black pants, her feet were bare. As the three men in military uniform raced past Ed's window ther came a loud clap and the bright blue flash. The military trio were forced to wait as the girl formed a weapon from the concrete. It was a staff with a blade on oneside and it was weighted on the other side.
Shara stood at the ready, the crows had quickly cleared for fear of getting killed by this "impersonator". Shara growled and wished the crowds would have stuck around so she wouldn't be fired upon by the damned military. As soon as the civilians were out of the way they fired and Shara was forced to ditch the weapon and hide behind cargo crates.

The sound of gun fire brought Edward Elric to his feet. The young alchemist bolt from the train and stood on the plateform. His head moved left to right quickly in hopes to catch a glispe of what was going on. The sight of blue uniforms caught. A grin appeared across his face,
It seemed that they had done most of the work for him. Already they had tracked the fake down for him. Ed ran to their side, "Stop firing! I'll handle this myself." he commanded. They all looked at him with curiousity until Ed flashed his watch. Everyone of them stepped back. "All right, you can come out now! Don't be a coward you fake!"

Hearing Edward's voice brought back memories and her head poked above the crates so just the very top of her head and her eyes were showing. She ducked down again and slid one of her metal arms out from behind the crate and she drew a transmutation circle in full view of the alchemist and pressed her hand down on the circle. After the blue glow died down Shara was gone but standing beside the crates and in stunning detail was a statue of Ed and Shara standing beneath a willow tree.
Shara made her way away from the train station and towards the outskirts of Dublith where she lived in an abandon lot that had a large willow tree standing in the middle of it alongside a broken down and run in house. If Ed read the sign right he'd find her easily enough at her place. She'd taken up residence in this shabby place becuase she had nowhere else to go to. When she just wanted to be friendly and nice she dyed her hair blood red and when she was the 'impersonater' her hair was blonde. Thanks to simple alchemy she was able to get by on a low paying job and what she knew.

As Shara stepped into full veiw Ed's eyes opened wide with the shock of seeing a familiar face, "Shara." he said softly. There came a sudden burst of light that caused Edward to shield his eys. When he looked she was gone. In her place stood statues. It was of both of them beneath the willow tree.
"So she's alive." Ed couldn't believe it. Perhaps she had put all of that humunculus nonsense behind. At least he hoped so. Edward looked over his shoulder, "I'm going after the imposter. I wan your troops to cover the city." All of the troops saluted, "Sir!" Ed
Ed had to speak to her. Even if she was a humunuculus. She was still a friend. If she kept continueing this. she would bring the military. Following what he hoped was the path Shara took. Ed made his way to the desolate outskirts of Dublith. "Where the hell?" he questioned himself. With a heavy sigh Ed padded through the outskirts in hopes of finding Shara again. Moments passed before he found sight of an aged willow tree, "That's got to be it."

Shara watched him from the branches and then jumped down and walked across to him with a smile. "So they sent the Great Full Metal Alchemist to deal with me eh?" She said in a teasing tone. Shara put her hands on her hips and looked him over 'Still short and a twig' she thought and giggled. "Well it seems like my plan worked, they sent you straight to me." She reahced out and ruffled Ed's hair.
"Sera!, Sera!" Shara attention was drawn to a seven yearold who was racing towards them with a basket in her hand. Shara knelt down as the girl reached them and presented the basket to Shara "Mommie said to give this to you." The litle girl said with a big smile. Shara smiled back and accepted the basket "Tell her she has me thanks and I'll be back on Monday ok?" The little girl nodded and skipped off. Shara got to her feet and picked the baasked up off the gound. "Hungry?" Shara asked.

Edward ignored her little quirks even though they annoyed him to the breaking point. He had managed to find her and that pleased him. She said that her plan had worked. Ed scratched his brow at the thought. Before he could ask her a small girl came running up and gave a basket to Shara. Ed smirked, even as a criminal Shara could still spread her kindness to others.
There came a small growl from Ed's stomach when she asked him for food, "Just a little bit." he muttered. The sight of Shara put that all behind. In the back of his mind Ed wondered why she was here in the first place. Was it becuase those distance memories? Had they brought her here, "What were you thinking?" he simply asked, "Trying to bring the State down on this peaceful town?"

Shara liched behind her ear and lowerd her eyes and then shook her head and turned around "Well If I brought down the entire military I'd be in big trouble with more than just the military." Shara rubbed the side of her head and then Led Ed into the only part of the broken down house that could be lived in and that turned out to be the kitchen. She set the basket down on the table and fetched a few plates and pulled over a couple of tall stools and sat atop one. She pulled a sanwitch from the basket along with a pear and ate.
"I see you got my message..." she said between bites. Shara held the sanwitch with one hand and pulled the Silver watch from her pocket and slid it across the table to Edward. "Inside I have carved Five names that have meant the most to me, you're welcome to have a look if you want to." she said and continued eating her food.

Ed pulled a chair back and sat down. He looked at the food provided with ravinous eyes "The statues, yes I got that. But I barely managed to find it." he said after taking a bite from his food. She slide her state issued watch across the table. Ed stared at it for a moment before picking it up. Prying the cover opened Ed saw his name ecthed into the metal.
"My names in it." he muttered to himself. Glancing up at Shara, Ed was a little shocked. Little did he know that he was amongst the people that meant the most to her. The alchemist slide it back across the table to her, not bothering to read the rest of the name.

Shara picked it up and closed it and stuck it back in her pocket. She finished off her sandwitch and then ate her pear. 'So he didn't bother to see the fifth name did he?' She gave a small sigh and then tossed the core of the pear itnot he tash can and relaxed on her stool and waioted for him to finish. "So Ed, how's life in the military?"
Shara Waited for his anwser and then said bluntly "I'm going back" She put a hand on her pocket, her fingers tracing the dragon emblem on it.

"Life as a dog is okay." He spoke, "They give me a command and I do it. It's as simple as that." Shara spoke of going back into the service again. Ed leaned back in his seat and cradled his head with his hands. "If...if you go back you might be punished for your actions. You went awol." Edward stood up from his seat and looked at her. "I don't know if discriptions of the 'imposter state alchemist' have reached central." Strumming his fingers on the table Ed looked away from her. He knew what would happen if they had. "I fear for you."

She smiled softly and studied him "I know" she said and got to her feet she placed the dishes in the basin of water on the counter and stuck the basket beneath the table. "Besides I have things I have to do before I leave town." Shara sighed softly and then casualy streched and sat back down. "I can take anything they throw at me Edward, otherwise I'd be either fataly injured or worse, I'd be dead." She got up again and gently touched his shoulder.
"The people of this town didn't give up on me and neither should you." She said and started out the back door "Come if you want, I have some errands to run. I'll be back a bit later!" She said and paused as a couple of military personel raced right past her, not bothering to stop for the red haired, green eyed homelss teen. Shara shook her head softly and continued on into town.
---
The next few days went fast and soon enough Shara and Ed were on the train, nothing the boy said or did would be enough to deter Shara from returning from her 'exile'. Eariler she had told Edward that she would get off first, what she didn't tell him was that she was going to get off the train looking like herself.
Shara got up as the Train stopped and un-capped the canteen she'd brought with her and sdipped a few strands of her hair into it and her hair turned black. With a sorry grin to Ed she strode down the length of the train and flipped over overcoat so the dragon was visible on the back.
When she stepped off the train the few millitary personel who'd come to pick ed up were struck silent by the way the 'imposter' just stode off the train and marched right past them and stared at the dragon on the back of her coat. "What're you all looking at?" Shara snapped stopping and turning on her heel to stare at the three and then turned around again and almost ran right into Armstrong.
Her eyes narrowed and Shara grined "Oh! Hello Armstong!" She wiggled her fingers at him and shot to the right "Toodles!" She called back and made a break for it and as she suspected the military followed after her.
They trapped her in corner. Shara sighed and lowerd her gaze and then spoke "I will probably get severly punished for not returning to the military for a year. You all think the Dragon Alcemist has died and that I am an imposteror, but i guess I will have to prove myself as the alchemist I am."
She called her hands together and ran her hand along her lower left armand with a crackle of alchemy she'd changed her auto mail into a blade and then she clapped her hands together again and bent down and bright blue light lit up the buildings. When people could finaly look Shara stood atop the very same dragon statue she'd made for her alchemy test.

"So she's alive." muttered Armstrong, "Great!" He flex his muscles as his eyes sparkeld with glee. Ed put his hand to his face and shook his head, "Have the men stand down." Armstrong nodded, "Do as he says." somewhat reluctantly the guards lowered their firearms.
"Shara if you keep doing stuff like that you're going to get yourself killed." Said Ed walking to her side. Placing his hand on her shoulder he gave a meek smile, "You're sister is going to be happy when she sees you again....But watch out she'll prob'ly scold you like a mother."
